     It's actually fairly easy... you see, contrary to what the western world thinks, young Asian girls actually prefer older men. And if you are a little overweight - NO PROBLEM! - that's actually a good thing in the Philippines. It's seen as a sign of prosperity. And looks don't matter that much either because Asian girls have a good heart and looks are just not that important to them. And maybe you've heard the expression "No money, No honey"! Well... usually they are just kidding around. Of course, Asian girls are looking for financial stability. But that is also true for all women that are looking to get married. To be perfectly honest with you, Asian women are looking for love above all else. They really want to fall in love with a foreigner, get married, have kids, and live happily ever after. If you remember this one thing about Asian girls, you will be one step ahead of the game... Asian girls think with their heart and not their mind.

Here's my story...

     I had recently turned 45 and I was thinking to myself... "I need to get married and start a family - after all, I'm not getting any younger!" Now, what were my options? Could I marry someone in the USA my age and start a family? Not likely! How about someone half my age? Well, at least they would still want to have children, but an American woman half my age wouldn't give me the time of day! I was more interested in finding a woman who was more of a stay at home mom than a business woman. And, for economic reasons, that's hard to find these days in America. I had also read somewhere that asian girls were more family oriented. So...

I went online...

     I found a free site that allowed Filipina women and other asian girls to post pictures and profiles. I spent a few hours browsing the pictures and reading the profiles. I shot off a few emails and then I ran across a beautiful, sexy picture of a young Filipina girl. It was love at first sight! She was only 17, but I sent her an email anyway thinking that she would never respond to an old fart like me. But guess what? Not only did she respond, she was the ONLY girl that responded! And as it turned out, she was very smart and mature and, above all, serious about marrying a foreigner. Well, we emailed, chatted, skyped, and talked on the phone for a while. I sent her some flowers and chocolates for Valentines Day and told her I was coming to visit her (Asian girls love flowers and chocolates by the way). I wanted to see for myself if she was for real and not someone who was just in it for the money. During my first 3 week visit, we got to know each other and I found out that she really and truly did love me.

     So as soon as I got back to America, I started the K1 Fiance Visa process. I decided to move temporarily to the Philippines for about 10 months while we waited on the K1 Fiance Visa paperwork to be processed. After all, she was going to leave her family and move to the other side of the world to live in America. The least I could do was to stay with her for a while and get to know her family. Well, that 10 months is a whole another story, but to make a long story short, we got married on August 18th 2007. She was 19 at the time and I was 46. That may sound funny to Americans, but in the Philippines it is not only perfectly normal, it is highly encouraged and sought after by Asian girls.

• The Philippines is a great place to visit or live. It is definitely a poor country, but the natural beauty is astounding. There are beautiful mountains, islands, beaches, cities, malls, lakes, waterfalls, and hot springs. Not to mention the beautiful, sexy Asian girls. You can do everything from swim with whale sharks to climbing mountains.
• Everything is much, much cheaper in the Philippines... homes are literally 1/10 the price of a home in America. San Miguel beer is pretty good and it's only about 50 cents a bottle. Tanduay rum is maybe $2 a fifth. You can easily feed a family of 8 for $20.
• The people are very friendly in the Philippines. Event though they are very poor, they are always happy and friendly. They love to laugh. They have big hearts and your new Asian girl will be overflowing with affection and love.
• In the Philippines, you will be treated with respect and admiration. Like I said, it does not matter what you look like or how old you are either. They just have a natural love and respect for foreigners. In America, you often feel like just another face in the crowd.
• The food in the Philippines is not too bad... they eat lots of chicken (lechon manok) and roasted pig (lechon baboy). In the big cities like Manila and Cebu you can get just about anything you want. McDonalds and Pizza Huts are in all the malls along with other popular American restaurants like KFC. There are many other good restaurants too. Jolibees is their version of McDonalds and it is very popular. Stay away from the balut though - it's a fertilized duck egg about 16 days old. It's basically a duck fetus. I wouldn't eat one, but maybe you're more "adventurous" than I am!
• Transportation is fun and cheap... taxis are usually $1 to $2 anywhere you want to go. The "jeepney" is unique to the Philippines and is about a quarter to ride across town. My favorite is the tricycle taxis that you'll find in the provinces. They are either motorized or pedal driven. Just 3 pesos gets you anywhere.
• The Philippines is mostly a Catholic country. I felt very safe when I was there for 10 months. I personally would not step foot on the Island of Mindano in the very southern part of the country, but everywhere else is fairly safe and friendly.
• I've been a bachelor for a long, long time, so I like to lay on the couch and watch my NASCAR or football. She's over there kissing on me every 15 minutes. Some things you just got to put up with!
• I don't know much about other Asian girls in countries like Thailand, but I hear they are very nice too. I often hear great things about the food and friendly people in Thailand. I'll probably visit there in the near future.
